The City of Dunedin is coordinated with Duke Energy to initiate replacement of the existing decorative light poles along some of the downtown and surrounding streets. The existing poles will be removed and replaced with black poles with a similar style glass globe fixture and energy efficient LED lighting.

  • Timing - Installations will begin on the west and east ends of Main Street the week of 8/26/24 and will pause the week before Thanksgiving. Installation of any remaining light poles will resume in January.
  • Traffic - There are no road closures anticipated, only rerouting of traffic. Some lanes and parking spots will be closed or blocked for typically for no more than half a day. Install crews will need truck and trailer access as close to the poles as possible.
  • Map - Please reference the attached map with streets highlighted in yellow indicating approximate street areas that have the existing decorative light poles to be replaced.
  • For any additional questions contact the Duke Energy project team at 1-800-438-4705. We appreciate your patience during these brief daily interruptions to continued beautification of our Downtown.
