The Dunedin City Commission recently approved an innovative master plan for a new Aquatic Complex and the next steps to bring this new Aquatic Complex to the community. The Commission agreed to continue working with Orlando-based design/architects Borrelli + Partners to complete design, permitting and construction documents in the amount of $1,343,757.00.  The scope of services also includes Green Globes certification so as to align with the City's DREAM Initiative and is anticipated to be a fourteen month project completed in April 2025.

The existing pool at Highlander Park has served the City well for more than 50 years. The new design is based on community surveys and input and will include a competition pool, an activity pool with zero depth entry and slides, a therapy pool, a lazy river and new administration, restroom and concession buildings. The Kiwanis Sprayground is also incorporated into the footprint of the master plan as well as the facility’s beautiful oak tree canopy.
