Tree Removal Permits
Many trees in the City of Dunedin cannot be removed without first obtaining a Tree Removal Permit for $25. Once you've submitted an application for a Tree Removal Permit, it will be forwarded to our Parks Division to be reviewed by the City Arborist. You will then receive a notification of approval or denial. Some trees may be removed from private property without a permit. Click the link below to learn more.

Dunedin has received the "Tree City USA" award every year since 1989
The City of Dunedin takes pride in preserving green spaces for our residents and visitors by maintaining over 350 acres of green space dedicated to public use where you can walk, hike, bike, play, and picnic with friends and family. This outdoor environment significantly improves the quality of life in Dunedin for people of all ages. The city is honored to receive the Tree City USA Award each year for its commitment to enhancing the city’s tree canopy. This commitment involves maintaining existing trees, planting new ones, beautifying streetscapes, and organizing an annual Arbor Day celebration and tree giveaway.
