The City of Dunedin’s Planning & Development Department is a full service community planning and development department, responsible for short and long range planning, administering the City’s Zoning (Uniform Development) Code, enforcing zoning regulations and the issuance of building and other permits required by the City.
Basic services for planning and managing the City’s existing development, redevelopment and growth are focused on planning for future additions to and redevelopment of residential and commercial development, meeting the provisions of the City’s Uniform Development Code, planning for capital improvements and ensuring that development is built in compliance with the Florida Building Code.

The Department of Planning & Development is composed of three Divisions: the Building Division, the Planning Division and the Zoning Division. Each Division is charged with duties designed to ensure the efficient use of land within the City and to provide its residents with a safe, livable and functional community.
