CITY NEWS

  • WATER PRESSURE
    Water pressures have been reduced citywide in response to the Dunedin Causeway water main break. The public is encouraged to conserve water in the interim.

  • PUBLIC MEETING
    The City of Dunedin will be hosting the third in a series of Neighborhood Meetings to discuss the Southside Douglas Revitalization efforts. This meeting will be held TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9th AT 6:30 P.M. at the Dunedin Library, 223 Douglas Avenue.
    If you cannot attend and wish to comment with suggestions or opinions, please contact Planning Director Greg Rice at grice@dunedinfl.net.
    The meeting is open to the public.

  • COMMUNITY POLICING FORUM
    A Community Policing Forum to discuss the Sheriff's Office Dunedin Community Policing Initiative in the Downtown Business District will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, Commission Chambers, 542 Main street. The public is invited to attend and share public safety concerns with the Sheriff's Office.

  • HAITI EARTHQUAKE TRAGEDY
    Responding to the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti and its resulting devastation will take an international effort. The National League of Cities is requesting communities to encourage their citizens to support the relief efforts.

  • PUBLIC WORKS & UTILITIES WINS BACK-TO-BACK AWARDS
    The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Division of Water Resource Management has announced that the City of Dunedin's Wastewater Division has been selected to receive a 2009 Domestic Wastewater Plant Operations Excellence Award. The award will be presented to the City on December 8th in Tallahassee.

  • SIX MONTH DUNEDIN CAUSEWAY BRIDGE REPAIRS BEGINS OCTOBER
    Please be advised, Pinellas County will begin its six-month rehabilitation project of the Dunedin Causeway Bridge in October. There will be periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with flagmen directing traffic. Night Time Bridge Closures are scheduled to begin on Monday, December 7, 2009 from midnight to Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 5:00 a.m. The closures will continue nightly through Thursday, December 10, 2009, from midnight through 5:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009.
    Regarding vessels/boats: U.S. Coast Guard updates will be provided for all vessel operators who will be directed to Coast Guard advisories for bridge closure notices and safety zone enforcements. Future notices to mariners to be posted here.
    All residents and property owners of Honeymoon Island will continue to be advised directly.

  • DUNEDIN PUBLIC WORKS RECEIVES FEDERAL STIMULUS AWARD
    The Dunedin Department of Public Works and Utilities has been awarded a $149,500 Federal stimulus grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. Dunedin is one of only six (6) cities in Florida to have received this grant at this time under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. The purpose of the grant is to develop and implement projects to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions in our community. Dunedin's project includes extensive lighting conversions to LED, a bicycle connectivity study, nitrogen gas tire inflation program, and solar-powered school zone beacon installations.
