The St. Pete Clearwater area is closely monitoring developments surrounding the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and to date there is no threat that would impact our area beaches in any way: all of our accommodations, restaurants and attractions---as well as our 35 miles of award-winning beaches---remain 100% open for business.

  • DUNEDIN PRIVATE WELL WATER SHOULD BE TESTED
    Pinellas County residents who have private drinking water wells are urged to have them tested for arsenic. To have your well tested or to learn more about arsenic, call the Pinellas County Health Department’s Environmental Health line at (727) 538-7277, extension 1157. For more details about arsenic in water and its health effects, please read this information.

  • ADA COMMITTEE SEEKING MEMBERS
    Know anyone who works with, lives with, cares for, or simply has an interest in persons with disabilities and their challenges? We are seeking members for the ADA Advisory Committee, which meets on the last Friday of the month at the Hale Activity Center. This Committee will discuss accessibility issues and areas of concern with City programs, services and facilities. If interested, download an application here and return.   • PUBLIC NOTICE-ROAD WORK
    S.R. 580 (Main St.) between Pinehurst Rd./Crosley Dr. and U.S. 19
    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is making roadway improvements to S.R. 580 (Main St.) between Pinehurst Rd./Crosley Dr. and ALT U.S. 19 (S.R.595) between Hancock Street and Curlew Road in Dunedin, Florida. The projects will include resurfacing the roads, constructing concrete bus pads, and replacing the traffic signals and poles with new hurricane resistant signals and poles (Main Street only). The projects are scheduled to start in late June 2010 and are expected to be complete in January 2011. The cost of both projects is $3.4 million. Questions or complaints about these projects should be forwarded to the FDOT at roadwork@dot.state.fl.us for a prompt response.

  • DUNEDIN IMPLEMENTS NEW EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
    We've contracted with CodeRED to better inform our citizens in the event of an emergency. CodeRED is a high speed telephone communication service designed to quickly deliver information to businesses and residents; ranging from evacuation notices to missing child alerts. The current database has been culled from public records, but if there have been changes to your address, phone number, or if you use a cell or VoIP phone, you'll need to register. Businesses and residents are encouraged to sign up to ensure you receive these notifications
